Knowledge in Poisons: They are taught for a long time about the different poisons and venoms that are out in the world. They are skilled in what to use to create both poison and anti-venoms. E-D knowledge of poison can cure small bites from snakes or different kinds of spiders. Even though their bodies have been through the trials of poison, they can’t detect poisons in their food or drink. Even though they can’t use plants as poisons, they know how to use them as cures. People in this category are typically genin and chunnin. C rank knowledge is for chunnin starting to transaction over to become a Jounin. Here they train their sense of taste to pick up pieces of poisons in food. Not only that but they also start learning about plant poisons gaining more of an upper hand when out in the wilderness. B-A Knowledge of poison can cure from bigger animals, reptiles, or arachnids. Their taste buds are more accurate in finding poison’s in food. They also tend to branch their knowledge out to what kinds of plants can cause poison and most effective in treating wounds. People in this category are Jounin and Anbu members. ❧ H I S T O R Y: One of the few younger clans, starting only 100 ago through curiosity of a wife and a husband, making contact with Kuroyanagi, a large black widow, the leader of the spider summoning. Kuroyanagi had slept for a long time until this couple had come and woke her up from her deep slumber; what Kuroyanagi wanted was not loyal followers but to never go back to the state that she was in before and with that she had promised the man and woman with immortality. So, this couple had rounded up rogue and people who wanted strong children with the promise that they themselves would become strong as well. But many people who were introduced to Kuroyanagi had feared her and her power, most try to escape only to wind up dead, in the beginning it was a warning but that had died down itself so now most people are said to be spirited away. In today’s Gokegumo society, people are sworn to in front on Kuroyanagi, but now that they have footing as a medium sized clan, they won’t allow more families in. Children are held back from entering the academy until they’ve either successfully passed the trials of the Kuroyanagi or drop out/fail and move on to be a regular ninja, most not even making it to the end and possibly dying. But while they are recuperating and getting their bodies use to the poisons, the teachers are harsh in their training, teaching the basics of the village’s academy in the ways of the ninja and techniques they should know. It isn’t easy for a child to go through but since people are supportive, majority can make it through and are passed off to families in other villages, getting whisked away like a baby spider once they’ve hatched, and making homes in other places. Even though the founders of Gokegumo had disappeared, it’s said that they had died and leadership now is handed to different people who fight for the top with no structured leadership but sightings of the old couple wafers around the clan. But there is always one strong leader that looks over the affairs of all. How They Become a Gokegumo(Child’s View) At the age of six the induction to membership has begun. Most are given the choice, if too scared, to drop out and become a regular person to protect the compound and its members. After that is finished the journey to earn the Gokegumo status starts. They build the children’s resistant to venom and poisons by starting with weak items and moving up in strength. Since most become too weak, they train in the compounds instead of the academy, within reasonable standards of training and how that child is feeling. If one becomes too weak or cannot continue, the child is dropped out and healed, moving on to becoming a ninja. By the age of eight they have passed and are taught how to make a summoning contract with their leader and are taught to control the summons starting with the Faker. Mean while they are taught more about being a ninja until they are ten. After that they go into study about poisons, venom, and anti-venom, along with how to put them into and onto weapons. Then they are assigned onto teams at twelve. Most people in the Gokegumo become medic ninjas or become a part of ANBU. When one looks at the member, they look very frail and weak with their pale skin. But they shouldn't be underestimated, most of their poisons come from the spiders that are summoned by clan members. |
