It seemed the young Jounin had gotten carried away with training and now as the cold night air hit his frame, he began to realise just how late it was. Pale white eyes skimmed the earth below, noticing the dust that caked his attire from so many uses of his Kaiten technique, not to mention all the craters scattered around him, mentally he noted that was definitely enough training, he had after all managed to significantly increase the area his defence could cover, and with his chakra nearing depletion it was certainly time for the young man to make his way back home. Now with his breath caught, the Hyuuga began to slowly pace out of the training grounds, his sandals soon slapping onto the familiar terrain of Konoha’s pavements. Suddenly a number of sensations began to hit, the first was a need for a hot shower and a change of clothes, Neji could practically feel the dirt seeping into his pours, blemishing his pristine white skin. The second urge was for warmth; during training he’d been so active he’d managed to stave off the cold but as his activity halted his temperature also began to plummet. However, the third and certainly the most influential urge was one for food, the boy’s stomach growled loudly and soon his hand moved to clutch the area as if the muffle the sound, not that it a) worked or b) mattered when no one seemed to be around. Yes, warmth and clean clothes could wait; food was top of the agenda. Of course, for a great genius like Neji, he preferred to spend his time honing combat skills and building his knowledge of ninjutsu, the Jounin had never quite got round to mastering the art of culinary skills, and thus a trip home would likely result in having to eat the bland but simple food he knew how to cook for the sake of being away on missions, or worse...cup ramen. His pale eyes narrowed in disdain before darting round the streets, looking for some kind of light or activity. ‘I wonder if anywhere is still open...’ He thought in hopes of obtaining a decent meal after such a demanding work out. Though that was to be expected after all. She couldn't control the sky or the time of day after all. The most the woman could do was make it pass by a little faster if she so wished it. Truthfully, she wished for something a little more demanding recently. There really hadn't been any missions lately for her at all. Anko wasn't one to complain but the only people that she ever spent her time with always seemed to be busy. Her violet hues searched over the many restaurants that adorned the streets of Konoha. It all depended on what she wanted today. There was so many options that could cross her mind since she wasn't to much of a picky eater. There was always the option of going to see if Shimo was doing something. She didn't want to be a bother to the man however, and a small laugh came from her throat. She wondered to herself what Shimo himself would think of the comment that just went through her mind. She found that she was craving dumplings that night, though there was seldom a day or night that she didn't crave them. She found her favorite shop and sat down talking with the owner. It was small talk she would admit, but anything was better than the dreaded silence she had been facing all day. Soon enough laughs and other various noises were heard coming from the shop. A drink of sake and about five rounds later Anko was definitely enjoying herself in the night hours. The owner was always generous to her since she came so often. He didn't mind staying up late nights and talking with the woman. Anko felt Neji's presence as he came closer but ignored it. She was having to much enjoyment chewing on another dumpling. She had no doubt he was searching for something. Normally she would of been a little more interested since a part of her had wanted something to do. Her violet hues glanced away from the shop owner to his direction. He seemed rather depleted honestly and a small smile formed her features. "Hyuuga!" she called. Her voice was calm and didn't slur at all even though she had plenty of sake in the past hour or so. "Why don't you come in here and join me?" she called to him. She hadn't really met him personally. She had been his instructor for the Chuunin Exams but other than that she really hadn't had much time with the Hyuuga. There was a first time for everything though wasn't there? [/style]

As the teen headed closer he could see the light of the shop and the faint glow of the lamps outside illuminating the sign above the shop. A chorus of civilians talking and laughing amongst themselves resonated in his ears, it was perhaps a little loud for Neji’s liking but the aroma of the food in itself was enough to win over the Hyuuga and make him (cautiously) enter the shop. Taking a seat Neji’s pallid white eyes scanned the room; the bright and colourful interior seemed to match the mood of many of the patrons, none of whom Neji recognised until a dash of violet hair caught his eye. He instantly recognised the Jounin as Anko from his first attempt at the Chunin exams. For the majority of his Genin life Neji hadn’t made an effort to remember anyone he didn’t feel was worth his time, but still holding onto some manners he remembered his superiors such as her. However, he hadn’t seen much of her since. Suddenly she was facing him, and he was slightly taken aback that she was conversing with him although it didn’t show on his features. ‘Hyuuga! Why don’t you come here and join me?’ Neji looked around and figured Anko’s company would make a nice change, as a fellow Jounin it seemed only natural that he got to know her, especially since he hadn’t long achieved his rank, perhaps he could get some pointers, or a better understanding of what was to come for him. He made his way over, sitting beside her he greeted her with a polite ‘Hello’ but before he could say anymore a shadow loomed over. Drawn from his thoughts Neji looked up to find the owner of the shop had come to take his order, in his usually monotone Neji ordered some pork dumplings and only a moment later a cup of sake was placed in front of the boy. He glanced up, raising an eyebrow quizzically before the owner explained the drink came free. Without uttering a word the Hyuuga looked back down to the drink, his eyes narrowing as he was almost certain he was too young to drink, in fact, he was certain, a genius was never wrong! Had the owner mistaken him for someone older? Perhaps such rigorous training had aged him. Nevertheless, Neji didn’t protest, he figured it might give him an energy boost as he noted some of the other customers perk up with each gulp. Cautiously Neji raised the cup to his lips before gulping down the liquid, a warm sensation ran down his throat with an almighty shock to his system as his face twisted in disdain from the after taste, it was certainly not a pleasant drink! His eyes glanced back to Anko as the warmth settled in his stomach. “You actually like this stuff?” He couldn’t help but ask. [/style]
